Party Venues in Reading

For party venues in Reading area bring your family and friends together to celebrate at The Spring Inn Sulhamstead – just off the Bath Road, Junction 12 of the M4 and a beautiful Berkshire rural setting.

Special events such as christenings, birthdays, anniversaries and retirement are a great reason to get dressed up and catch up with each other for a memorable experience and enjoy the company of those special people we may not get to see as much as we’d like.

At The Spring Inn Sulhamstead you can choose between our private dining area for a smaller, more intimate setting with full waiter/waitress service or you can choose to host your party at our newly decorated upper floor restaurant area with private bar and have the seating arranged for your choice and number of guests for just the right atmosphere.

For catering what do you have in mind? Are you looking for a freshly prepared, unique gastro pub finger buffet that will delight your guests, all prepared by our team of passionate chefs who give so much attention to taste and presentation? Or do you prefer a 3 course sit down meal that inspires you with our own carefully prepared and unique dishes? We source local produce as much as we can and prepare all food in our own spacious kitchens located on the ground floor of our British gastro pub.

You might also like to choose our hotel when you celebrate the life of a loved one. Our genuine and experienced team will ensure the funeral reception is prepared in a professional and sensitive manner.

The Spring Inn was re-opened some weeks ago under a new management and the same management team as well known The George in Wraysbury, Berkshire.

Already a well known venue for the residents of Sulhamstead and the surrounding area, The Spring is open for a light lunch, evening supper, fine ales, a cold beer or a glass of good wine. The Sunday roast menu has already become extremely popular and The Spring is an ideal location for families wishing to relax and enjoy a freshly prepared, home cooked meal from just £13.95. There’s also a children’s menu and available on Sundays.

Visitors can enjoy relaxing outside on the terrace or if preferred, take a table on the green and watch the cricket not so far on the other side of the road.  The Spring is an easily accessible venue in a truly rural setting yet not far from Reading city centre and the M4 motorway.

Reading Gastropubs

There’s plenty of Reading gastropubs to choose from but one particular venue, better known as a Country Inn is the newly re-opened The Spring Inn at Sulhamstead, opposite the Ufton Cricket Club and just off the M4 Junction 12, Bath Road.

Independently owned and run by the same team as The George in Wraysbury, The Spring Inn has a new lease of life and after a great deal of hard work to bring this beautiful building to a standard that visitors will be able to really enjoy visiting, The Spring has a freshly painted and furnished relaxing garden terrace, tidy floral gardens and a large green with seating where visitors can watch the cricket across the road – all far enough from the hustle and bustle of Reading city centre.

The Spring offers a whole host of culinary delights including lunchtime sandwiches and daily specials posted on the board that are quite unique to The Spring. The team of chefs are passionate about flavour and presentation and as much as possible, source ingredients from local suppliers as they continuously update their menu, taking into consideration popular dishes and those that regular diners ask for.

If it’s an evening supper you prefer, pop in to The Spring any day of the week and expect a fine Sunday roast for the whole family – freshly prepared every week. Our team of passionate chefs prepare food that when presented to our diners, delights them and makes it evident they are all without exception, passionate, creative and caring about their cooking and indeed, presentation.

Upstairs there’s plenty of room for diners to relax and enjoy the views out of the window and across the restaurant with character staircase and extra bar. There’s a private dining area where family functions, business meetings and even intimate celebrations can be hosted for a limited number including private waiter and waitress service.

We’re delighted to read our reviews and Danielle Meziane recently post: ‘

‘Beautifully decorated, lovely garden. Interior is spacious and clean. Wonderful staff, welcoming and approachable, good customer service…fantastic food, affordable, tasty and well presented, good portion size. Definitely go again’.

The Spring offers a wide range of local, regional and international wines, beers and ales as well as other top shelf drinks you’d expect to find. We also serve morning coffee and afternoon tea on the terrace and inside our character gastropub.
